The Art of e-Learning

Recommended WBTServer hardware configuration

For companies, whose eLearning system constitutes a very crucial aspect of its functioning, conditions of an extended support are proposed. The details of each support are displayed below:

VARIANT I VARIANT II VARIANT III
assumptions assumptions assumptions
    • The target number of users actively using the system is 2000
    • 200 simultaneously logged users
    • The target number of users actively using the system is 10.000
    • 1.000 simultaneously logged users
    • The target number of users actively using the system is 100.000
    • 10.000 simultaneously logged users
architecture architecture architecture
The system will consist of 3in1 to the above given parameters. This means that the WWW, Application, and Database Server will be found on one hardware Server The system will consist of two hardware Servers to the above specified parameters. WWW and Application Server are found one whereas the Database Server on the other. The system will operate within Multiserver architecture consisting of twenty-two hardware Servers and one Primary Server (WWW and Primary Application Server)on separate Database Server (Database Server) as well as twenty additional Servers (additional Application Server with the local Database)

The system can work on the basis of the following WWW/Application servers

    • WebSphere
    • Apache + JRun
    • Netscape Enterprise Server + JRun
    • Tomcat
    • Apache + Tomcat
    • Jetty
    • Bea WebLogic

WBTServer platform can cooperate with inter alias the following databases

    • ORACLE
    • MS SQL Server
    • Internal
    • MySQL

There is a possibility of expanding the system for modules that are responsible for the cooperation with databases

    • DB2
    • Informix
    • MS ACCESS
    • Paradox
    • Fox Pro/Visual FoxPro
    • Other, chosen by the Client
